ncentive System as a Prevention Policy for the Promotion of Sport Activity : Consequences from German Case Study

Abstract

|
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was, based on the german incentive system for the promotion of sport activity, to suggest a framework of an incentive system as prevention policy. For this purpose, it is important to consider our social and sport-political conditions.
METHOD: Methodologically, results from the previous studies and various recent policy reports and literatures were analyzed for this study. Furthermore, materials from internet were used.
RESULT: The results of this literature review were as follows: First, sport policies overlap in some part with policies in health service area. This policy redundancy results in decrease of projects efficiency. It is possible to be built an incentive system as a prevention policy for the promotion of sport activity through the cooperation of two areas. This system can be effective on the reduction of medical costs. Second, for this purpose, it is necessary to link 'National Fitness Award', 'Sport Activity Award', and 'The National Health Plan 2020'. Third, in order to secure the exercise programs with high quality, we need to introduce the program certification. It can be applied to the exercise programs in the multi-sportclubs and profit-oriented fitness centers. Additionally, achievement of a goal that is set up by 'National Fitness Award' can be awarded.
CONCLUSION: To overcome the stagnation of sport participation rate, it is necessary to develop a new solution. One of he solutions is an incentive system for sport activity. In order to increase the effect of a system, we need a cooperation of two areas such as sport and health service.
